How it works
Your statement is opened and read by code running inside this browser tab. Nothing about the file is sent to a server.
What happens when you choose a file
- Your browser hands the file to the page. It stays in memory on your device.
- A PDF reader (pdf.js, bundled with this site and served from this site) extracts the text and where each piece sits on the page.
- Tallyrow groups text into lines, finds the heading row, assigns each amount to a column and joins wrapped descriptions.
- The table you see is built from that result. When you download, the .xlsx or .csv is created in memory and saved by your browser.
Three ways to verify
1. Go offline
Load the page, switch off Wi-Fi, then convert a file. The indicator beside the drop zone changes to Offline, still converting. A tool that uploads could not finish.
2. Watch the network
Open developer tools (F12), go to the Network tab, then choose a file. You will see no request that carries it.
3. Read the policy
The site sends a content security policy that limits scripts to connect only to this site’s own origin and to the spam check used on forms. That means the page cannot send your file to a third party, even by mistake.
What the site does collect
Anonymous usage events sent to this site’s own server: a random visitor id stored in your browser, which page you viewed, that a file was opened, how many pages it had, which export format you chose, and which plan you clicked. No file name, no file content, no transaction text. If you submit your email in a form, we store that email and the message. Details on the privacy page. There is no third-party analytics and no advertising.
What we cannot promise
Reading layouts is hard and no parser is perfect. Check the totals and the balance check against your statement. Your browser, extensions and operating system are outside our control; if you worry about those, convert on a device you trust.
